DELIBERATE DISTORTION OR TWISTING OF MEANING

The Fairhope City Council and Weeks Bay are trying to tell the general public that a Conservation Easement does not mean Weeks Bay owns the property. True they also have no lease or title to the land.

The city is simply “disposing” of the property and any control of the property. The City would be signing over management and control for perpetuity to Weeks Bay. That’s forever baby!

DISPOSAL

The President of the Fairhope City Council has held on to that title for over 7 years. This is extremely rare, most often Councils share the position of Council President with other Council members. Not Jack Burrell, he has to maintain “control”. His Control has been very costly for the City of Fairhope. His lack of leadership and his favoritism to special interests, CATALYST, is all to apparent. Ask yourself, How can a Council President not know whose idea it was to “dispose” of 106 acres of city property, worth 20 million dollars?

If you attended or watched on YouTube, the 3 hour and 34 minute Fairhope City Council meeting, May 29th, then there should be no doubt in your mind how dysfunctional the Council is. It makes no difference what attorneys, city staff, citizens or the Mayor recommend to the council the council does the opposite and acts like a Dictatorship. It is all political and the Fairhope City Council is holding up the progress of the city.
