Tom Albritton, the head of the Alabama Ethics Commission, is accused of unethical behavior related to a trust. Despite this, he remains in office with a high salary and even teaches ethics. Some people think he’s a classic case of a sociopath.
Have you noticed how a lot of communities are now building Justice Centers? Sounds like a good idea until you look a little closer and see the fraternity atmosphere. It is the police domain just like the courthouses. The police are in charge and they are armed to the teeth, where no one is armed? The Judges feel secure with such protection as well as the District Attorney and their minions.
When will Baldwin County wake up and vote in new blood. The GOB, Good ole Boys, have a strangle hold on Baldwin County. They determine the candidates that will tow the line or raise their hand when told to do so. Sheriff Hoss Mack calls the shots and Mayors just bend over. The school system, Eddie and Gray, have job security guaranteed, as long as they go along. Their is no accountability or transparency as long as this cabal exists.
The Ripp Report filed two complaints with the Alabama Attorney General's office. For misconduct by the Alabama Ethics Commission's director and requests a review of past dismissed complaints. And the wrongful conviction of Murray Lawrence in Baldwin County.
The one thing that the good ole boys, GOB, of Baldwin have down pat is walking the line of legal and illegal. They do not care if it is a conflict of interest, unethical or smells to high heaven, just as long as it is barely legal. It does not even matter if you change political parties, all they care about is that they get their rubber stamp candidate, Andrea Lindsey, elected.
How do you select the best candidate for the job? In Baldwin County the first thing you do is eliminate the Catalyst candidate. Many years ago Lynn Stacy was a political operative in Baldwin County that would guarantee candidates a win. He represented the most hardened of the Baldwin County good ole boys, GOB. Then came Stacy Haygood and Elliott, Haygood became Mayor of Daphne and Elliott became a county commissioner.
If you are caught stealing 10 dollars from Wal-Mart, YOU are going to jail. If you steal 3.2 Million and distribute those funds to Judges, Bankers, Lawyers and Politicians by using a trust, that you are a trustee of, KNOW, you could get away with it, in Alabama. Especially if you happen to be the Executive Director of the Ethics Commission, Mr. Tom Albritton.

The Baldwin County District Attorney Robert Wilters, was the presiding Judge in the Murray Lawrence case. Sheriff Hoss Mack was the lead investigator and David Whetstone was the prosecutor. They all signed a coroners report in relation to the exhumed body of Brandon Hastings. This report was recently found, however during the trial it was never provided to the defense. This was not an inadvertent mistake. Suppressing the report from the defense was willful and deliberate and deprived the defense of valuable information supporting the cause of death as suffocation, NOT gunshot.

I wish to address two complaints that I have submitted to your office:
First is the complaint I filed with your office, Attention Clark Morris, in Sept. 2022 against Alabama Ethics Commissions Executive Director Mr Tom Albrittion. I am aware of the lawsuit your office has filed against him, however Mr. Albritton has remained the executive director of the ethics commission, with a handsome paycheck. This singular hypocritical fact disgraces the ethics commission and erodes any function or ethical standards the commission once had.
Alabama Football Drama: Coach Nick Saban left, and Auburn alums hope for a Tubberville-like era. A new coach is already in place. Judge Wilters, a District Attorney, responded to a petition about withheld information. A Federal Court dismissed a lawsuit related to Coal Ash. A winter storm is canceling schools in Alabama after a sunny Martin Luther King Jr parade.
